"Nikkei News reported that Sony's game division was turned profitable over the fiscal year, due to PS3 hardware cost reductions and increased software sales. However, Sony CFO Masaru Kato said Sony will no longer consider huge initial financial investment like they did for the PS3, such as building its own semi-conductor facilities, because the business model is changing."
I'm sure at some point Sony justified the price of the PS3 with the costs to make it in vague terms, but I never considered that we as customers were not just paying for those new parts or those fancy Blu-ray drives..but factories too.
I am sure PS4 will be a lot cheaper is we are not also paying off the cost to make a factory to pump put CELL chips or a new Blu-Ray diode factory.
*** Lazy Sunday*** Just stuff on my mind that I don’t care if a whole lot of folks see, but I just want to have out there when people breeze through here once a week.

I really do wonder what Wii U will cost and what signal that might give to Sony and MS about pricing.
Without a doubt, I think the sales of Wii U (or lack) will occur in time for Sony and MS to adjust prices. However, I think most of what Sony and MS have to plan for PS4 and XB720 will occur before a Wii U is sold in N. American. Thus, both will have to take the economic temperature without really knowing how well Wii U will do in the market.
