- Apples censoring their iStore? Good, I was almost about to get a touch or iPad. Now I know Apple is full of people on the side of evil, so I can avoid their products.
- Goggle Buzz? The whole thing had blown over before anyone knew anything had happened. That’s the modern world, all flaws/bugs burn out in days not weeks.
- I predicted this in January, but I was right Uncharted 2 is a slow burner. It too awhile to sell 3+ million, but it is slowly selling more each month under the radar. Thankfully, Sony and Naughty dog seem intent on leaning sales figures so the people see it is still selling and wasn’t a weird flop.
- Tecmo and Itagaki settled their lawsuit...silly me I thought it had already been settled. This popping up in the news just reminded me of how creepy that Itagaki guy is sometimes. Then again I fully support Dead or Alive titles, those games are fine I just feel better without him connected to them. It was like watching that Larry Flint movie, you came always feeling that “First Amendment Rights” could have used a better poster-boy then him. -- Games with girls in bikinis aren’t bad, but that dude making them makes me unconformable.
- A Civilization V trailer came out and watching it makes me smile. There are some games that should always get a new update forever and ever. There should always be a new CIV game every four years until the end of time.
- Have you noticed that Nintendo and Sony both came out this week and clarified them wouldn’t be putting out new hardware and that Wii and PS3 were in it for the long haul? That either means they are telling the truth or lying through their teeth...that simplifies it right?
- Bungie & Sony? I doubt it: Asked by Computer and Video Games whether or not the studio is planning to work with the PlayStation 3, Bungie community manager Brian Jarrard said, "I mean, I think our whole future's kind of undefined right now and it's definitely not something we're going to be comfortable getting into too much detail about. “ That sounds very vague, and I think MS would have to get prissy and rude before Bungie made stuff for PS3. If MS burns some bridges then sure it could happen. But I doubt MS making more Halo games if really as much of a slap as people think. Bungie wants to move on I’m sure, Halo was profitable but it has run its course creatively for them.
- Oh my god why is Sony still trying to make PSN Home work! SONY, HOME IS A MONEY PIT AND IT IS AN INDUSTRY PUNCH LINE TO A JOKE THAT NOBODY THINKS IS FUNNY! So now I see from 1UP that, “Brand Week report outlines Sony's difficulties in catching non-endemic advertisers.” I mean duh! PSN Home is a huge valley of uncanny stuff. PSN Home is open to everyone in a PS3 household, so it targets nobody yet also cannot offend anyone. So, yes it is nearly impossible to reach anyone. But how do you kill it? I say Sony should lure Kotex Maxi Pads to put their advertising EVERYWHERE. Loop the commercials on all the screens, put Kotex ads in the shopping area, make an arcade machine called "My Period" at the bowling alley. Nothing is a bigger buzz-kill then menstruation and feminine hygiene products
- Sony’s Universal Game Controller? Okay, the way I see it Sony just wanted the patent. They don’t want to make it, they just want to sit on the idea so nobody else can do it.
- Has there ever been a Wonder Woman game? I think aside from Batman she would be one that could be done. Wonder Woman remains one of the most widely recognized and popular comic book heroes of all time. Her memorable costume and weaponry made her an icon for feminism and sexuality equally. Equipped with her Golden Lasso and a tiara which could double as a boomerang or a dagger-like weapon she has simple powers to use in a game. I always felt Wonder Woman was cool because she was hands on...lasso you or punch you in the face. She is fit without being too muscular, sexy but not trampy. The only issue is the outfit , that classic red, gold and blue outfit is stupid. The 'bottom' is the biggest issue: make it too small she is in a bikini, make it too big she is wear granny panties.
- I really think Lego games are coming out too fast. Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman, Harry Potter? That is just too many titles and they seem to hit too often. Please, just one title, once a year Lego.
- When will be get another Star Trek TV series? I really want one for some reason. I hear whispers of Star Trek: Cardinal. A small vessel which is charged with the unglorified job of maintaining the Ferengi border, a small rectangle that also happens to connect the Romulans to the Cardassians in a smugglers corridor. The crew would be charged with chasing criminals and would-be invaders. THAT SOUND TERRIBLE. A Trek ship needs to go all over the galaxy! The problem with DS9 and Voyager was they kept them in this tiny corner of space. Also the Ferengi are B-level race in Trek lore. If anything I’d go with a ‘training vessel’ all maritime school use them to give cadets practice experiences. SO make a Starfleet training vessel that allows a mix of really old and really young Starfleet people to mix.
