Anyone have a night in mind?
If not I'll just throw out there that ANYTIME you see me online you can send me an invite to your game. If we get four people we can be our own squad...which would be cool.

I've been thinking of getting this game but money is tight right now so I've had to cut back on the spending. I tried to have a reading competition with my sister to win a free video game and Battlefield was going to be one of my choices. Unfortunately the same person who took a little over TWO WEEKS to read the seventh book somehow managed to read books ONE, TWO and THREE in half a day... I doub it but I have no way to prove other wise. Needless to say I don't get a free game now I will start saving up though. Who knows, maybe before SOCOM comes out I might have it. Doubt I'll buy it though if I get the money AFTER October 14th.

I could probably get this game by Friday, if not sooner. Wednesday possibly.

Well, I'm playing every night. And from how I feel now i will be playing this game until Killzone 2 or Resistance 2 comes out.
Not really well suited for a game night, at least at this point. If they enhance the "party" features it will make it easier, but for right now teh bets you cna hope for is to invite people into your squad and the hope other "Join" the game your squad is in already.
It may seem strange but I think it a better system. I hate playing in half-full rooms and most GAP games start or end half-full. That is why I often don't joing GAP Nights....I like full rooms even if it means playing with strangers.
With that said if people see me online throw me an invite or join my game.

I'm still playing...
It is depressing to see that more people didn't buy the game from my friends list. You all going to buy SOCOM (which is going to suck in all likelihood) so not only will you have missed out on a GOOD GAME you will actually pay for and then try to play a really poor game.
The big flaw with playing as a group on Battlefield is there is no clan support....great game...but without clan support is a tough sell for a group like GAP. Nevertheless, I find the way the guns shoot, the ways the hits register and the pacing of the game the most user friendly of all the shooter. It is just a great game to play

It is just a great game to play I'm just curious... why would clan support be important? That only matters if you plan on Warring and no one cares about warring on R6V, COD4 or UT3 and they're not bothered to care about either. I think the only ones in the GAP who care about warring anymore are a select group of "certain" people that play Warhawk. A say certain because warring in Warhawk isn't quite like in any other game and on top of that the same people that war in Warhawk would probably never last in any sort of "organized" clan vs clan competition with any other game. The days of Wars died when GameBattles turned to crap I probably would have bought this game if it had of done anything to excite me. I tried it, wanted it. Then lost interest ebfore I even owned it! That sold me on not buying it. Maybe Ill change my mind but I am one of those crazy people anxiously awaiting the release of that really poor game that will in all likelihood be suck. At least its new HD suck! Oh, and I get the next installment of my favorite series... I will miss campaing mode though. ;D

Clan support just makes it easy to get into a game with other GAP people, which is one of the biggest drawbacks of Bad Company. With only 4 people in a squad, it is difficult to put a GAP game night together for it.

Yeah, the clan is just a good way to get GAP people in one room by a simple mechanism. As it stands you can only get three other people in a room with you and then everyone else would have to TRY to follow by entering the same game...if there was room.
With CLAN & LOBBY functions we could set up a pass worded GAP room that has room for GAPers. Very few GAP games or clan actually do "Battles" from what I have seen we just use the system to get people together. I DISPISE Clans that do "Battles" and worry about the Clans standings. You can almost guarantee any clan that is worried about its standings is not a place you want to be or full of people you would want to play with.

Ahhhh, I forgot how shitty the Playstation Network is. I take for granted how easy it is to so easily and smoothly enter/exit/change games with LARGE groups on XBL. Sony fucked up when they decided to make the PSN free, thus requiring "community services" to fall on the shoulders of the third party developers *cough*Resistance is a good example*cough* When home is released it will be somewhat easier for larger groups to stay together, you probably know this as a BETA tester Monkey. The bad part is that Home is nothing more than a broken program that is either going to be released as a serious work in progress soon or it won't be released for a very long time so those benefits of "community" will have to come in a crappy stae or well over due. I still don't see the point in home. I'd rather have an XMB or "dashboard" based party/grouping system thats behind the scenes rather than a 3D "virtual world" party/grouping system. Hopefully this new update to XBL won't suck as bad as it looks like it will and hopefully Sony will take notes and add some of the final few needed features to the PSN. Shoot, with the Home party/grouping system once you are in-game you can't change who is in the Party/Group. At least with something XMB based Sony would easily be bale to impliment something like that. Maybe one day 20 years from now I will still be around to see Sony build a console and then have Microsoft design and develop the interface for it. I don't think I'd leave Nintendo in charge of the peripherals though... perhaps they could be in charge of the XPV Arcade ;D

I agree M_K, competitive clan "battles" are just not something I am interested in.

Which is not to say I don't play competitively in the GAP room. I play hard but at the end of the night my side "winning" is of no consequence to me. I play hard so that people find the room "enjoyable" to play in for a few hours. There is nothing worse then getting in a room where everyone is just jogging around and not even playing....Okay what is worse is a room where everyone is worried about their score or WINNING. You can't win at GAP...you only lose.
